Thankful or not?

Today I broiled.

So no injuries, burns or other wounds to declare. The story about my icky burn is not too fabulous. Basically I was making chicken noodle soup, a few of the noodles stuck to the bottom of the pan, I tried to get them up and then the boiling hot water splashed on my shirt, the shirt stuck to my skin.. and the rest is history... blistering, ouchiness history. Apparently my bff received an email that my pictures were gross (and they thought they were sores)... so I opted to just take them down altogether. I feel a bit censored. :o)

I found out today that I owe $2,000 to the IRS. I guess it could have been worse... I'd like for it to be better.. but what's a girl gonna do. I just recently heard "maybe you can't control the situation, but you can control how you'll behave in that situation". So instead of thinking about my monthly payment, how this will hurt for a while.. I choose to be thankful for:
  • life (seriously... I shouldn't have made it to 29)
  • a roof
  • a bed to lay my head
  • an awesome job
  • food in the fridge
  • people that genuinely care for my life
  • the ability to exercise and feel the burn when I have a great workout
You guys are the best! I'm off to do my Pilates.. OUCH.

Ouch...sorry about owing the IRS. I know that's gotta hurt.

And seriously....29?? For some reason I thought you were 24 or so. You certainly don't LOOK 29...

Smooches! ;)

Ya know...We do have to remind ourselves of just how truly blessed we are. Our pastor said on Sunday that if we have one car in our household we're in the wealthiest 8% of world. Kinda puts things in perspective.

It'll all work out, Tina!

*hugs*

Bah! The IRS sucks!

Sounds like you have a ton things to be thankful for, and I'm sure the list is even longer!

Pilates....Ouch is right, good luck with that buddy.

Okay, my bday is Oct 21. Sep. 27 is my BFFs bday (superjayman--remember her??) She'll be 40 this year and I'll be 30. I think we're planning on doing something big. ;) Like meet up in Cancun or something with our hubby's and NO KIDS!. :) Wanna come? ;)

And yes...soon to be 30. I don't FEEL like it (well when I'm not pregnant I don't!) so therefore maybe that's why I don't look it?!?

OW about both the burn and the IRS. I did our taxes yesterday, too. We don't owe this year, but my tax software is projecting that we'll owe next year. Ugh. Time to get more moolah taken out of our paychecks.

Hope your burn is feeling better.

I agree - even with illness/burns and taxes we have so much to be thankful for. :-)

Ah, I don't worry too much about taxes. I have to get mine done, though. So far I've gotten a refund every year and this year won't be any exception. Thank goodness for deducting childcare. Is it true you can deduct the interest on your mortgage in the US? I don't know why ANY homeowner would owe if they could deduct that.

That really sucks abotu teh IRS. Too bad you don't live out here, our accountant is AWESOME and I'm sur could lessen that amount. It could be worse though.
Nice thankful list but where is Polly? Did you see my random one from a few weeks ago? I think you should do the same, it really made me feel better.

Ok, so HOW are you getting your SP menus to post so perfectly? Are you on a mac? I can't figure it out and it is driving me nuts and I actually traked a whole day yesterday and want to post it.
